Is this going to be:

• uncontested (we both agree to get a divorce and can come to agreement about how we are going to divide and end everything) or is this going to be

• contested (we are going to have to fight for what you want/need because you and your spouse don’t agree on how you want to split and end things).

2. Before the consultation - figure out the BIG thing

Why does this matter?

A divorce where both agree and can sign the document is much easier and costs less in court costs then if you don’t agree. This means that my fee for an uncontested divorce is much less than one of a contested divorce

3. During the consultation

• Let me know if there are children under 18 involved or not. (There are a few extra steps we have to do if there is such as creating a parenting plan, determining child support, etc.)

• Let me know your big things that you absolutely want to happen from your divorce, and I can make sure they are a priority. Also, just make sure that you think we are good match, because we could be working together for awhile, depending on the case.

4. After the consultation

• I will send you the fee agreement, and you will decide if you want to move forward with my services. If you are unsure, it is recommended to seek another consultation from another lawyer to make sure you are getting the best person for your case.
