  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form, email me at taylee@thurmerlaw.com, or schedule a call (615) 219-9505 —we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

  • Once you contact me initially, I will schedule you either a free in-person or a phone consultation to go over the basics of your case.

From there, I will give you lay out of how we can move forward, and send you my fee agreement.

You agree to the fee agreement and you think we jive well? Awesome! Once the initial payment laid out in your specific fee agreement is made, I will send you and email for more specifics that I will need for your case. For example, if you are divorce case, I will need the legal name of you, your spouse, your children, etc., your birthdays, social security numbers, etc. The things you don’t just give out normally! I take those informations and put together your legal case and file what is needed.

Every case is different from this moment forward, because we are all unique individuals with unique situations.

  • You can reach us anytime via our contact page, my phone number (615-219-9505), or email (taylee@thurmerlaw.com). We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

    • Reach out and we will schedule your free consultation

    • Before the consultation - figure out the big thing: Is this going to uncontested (we both agree to get a divorce and can come to agreement about how we are going to divide and end everything) or is this going to be contested (we are going to have to fight for what you want/need because you and your spouse don’t agree on how you want to split and end things).

      1. Why does this matter? - A divorce where both agree and can sign the document is much easier and costs less in court costs then if you don’t agree. This means that my fee for an uncontested divorce is much less than one of a contested divorce

    • Let me know if there are children under 18 involved or not. (There are a few extra steps we have to do if there is such as creating a parenting plan, determining child support, etc.)

    • During the consultation - Let me know your big things that you absolutely want to happen from your divorce, and I can make sure they are a priority. Also just make sure that you think we are good match, because we could be working together for awhile, depending on the case.

    • After the consultation - I will send you the fee agreement, and you will decide if you want to move forward with my services. If you are unsure, it is recommended to seek another consultation from another lawyer to make sure you are getting the best person for your case.

    • After you agree to the fee agreement and you pay the initial required deposit - Whoo hoo! So exciting! You will be seeing an email coming from me for more detail on your specific case that may be needed, and explaining the next steps in the process. Everyone is different and has different situations, so this will be hand tailored for your situation.
